Open Floor Plan Wellesley Massachusetts

12 PHOTOS These clients desired an open floor plan for their cramped, mid-size Colonial home in Wellesley, Massachusetts. The kitchen was dark and small, located in the front of the house with no access to the front foyer. The low windows were another challenge. A side entry opened into the kitchen. It was a maze walking from the front entry to the kitchen, to the dining room and to the powder room.

Kitchen Visions removed walls, allowing the dining room to become the kitchen and the old kitchen to become the family dining area with a built-in buffet and bar. The wall from the old kitchen was moved one foot into the front foyer and a new 48" cased opening was creating access to the front hall.

The back hall was reconfigured, the original kitchen entry closed, and now has a built-in bench, hooks, and a closet, with better flow to the kitchen and bath.

Small Kitchen to Big Remodel Hingham Massachusetts

13 PHOTOS A small kitchen in a large house became much larger when KitchenVisions opened up the wall between the dining room and the kitchen. A generous marble topped island seats four and is flanked by a bookcase separating the eating area from the kitchen. By taking out a bookcase from the adjacent family room, they gained much needed space to house their refrigerator. A full wall is devoted to cooking and another full wall to pantries and glass decorative cabinetry. The sink is open to the family room. The surrounding counters are Silestone quartz.

Kitchen with a View in Portsmouth, Rhode Island

12 PHOTOS This wonderful addition, comprised of a new garage, laundry room and office, was added to a beautiful waterfront home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The brand new renovated kitchen resides in the former two-car garage with breathtaking views of the dock. European glass hinged cabinets and a stainless backsplash modernize the Shaker cherry cabinetry which was custom-stained to match the original kitchen, now an entertainment center. A Viking range, Miele hood, Wolf ovens and 15" induction cooktop allow the homeowner-chef to prepare gourmet meals. The Sub-Zero glass refrigerator, and Sub-Zero freezer drawers complete the appliance selection. A custom 39" single Elkay sink sits centered on the island which is topped with four slabs of 2" concrete counters.

The original kitchen, which is reminiscent of a ship's galley, has found new purpose as an entertaining center with a cozy banquette; a bar/coffee station; a 48" Sub-Zero refrigerator for drinks, appetizers and desserts; and a wine captain. The island's concrete countertop features a striking built-in sink.

Modern Mahogany & Maple Custom Kitchen

6 PHOTOS The clients live in a mid-1980s center hall Colonial that had a dated oak kitchen in MetroWest Boston, Massachusetts. They wanted to modernize and lighten up the space. Within the existing footprint the new kitchen design features custom maple and mahogany wood cabinetry. A six foot wide, shallow mahogany pantry provides plenty of storage space for this busy family. By using gloss and matte pale aqua glass tile on the backsplash and frosted glass front cabinets, Jodi created a calm and ethereal family center. Complimentary granite countertops and stainless appliances give this a kitchen a cool appeal while the entire space works in harmony.

Master Bathroom Remodel Sudbury Massachusetts

9 PHOTOS This spacious master bathroom remodel combines two main spaces, one for the vanities and another for the shower and soaking tub. Between them, along a short hallway, lies a separate water closet on one side and a generous linen closet on the other. Each space easily flows to the next while allowing for privacy. Porcelain tiles on the floor and walls keep the color scheme neutral and quiet. The decorative mosaics shimmer with a copper thread running through the glass.
