Honoring America: Made in the U.S.A.

In honor of America’s 244th birthday, we are sharing products we love to use that are made in the USA. Incorporating artisan and hand-made items into projects, especially when mixed with less traditional styles, has been gaining popularity in the past few years.

We’ve used hand-forged iron brackets from Modern Urban Metals on a few projects. We love how they look on these open wood shelves in this Wellesley kitchen we designed. Discovering and supporting American artisans is a great way to bring unique elements to our clients.

Adding reclaimed wood elements to spaces brings a rustic, charming style to otherwise unadorned white walls and ceilings. We are incorporating a reclaimed wooden beam like this from Longleaf Lumber in a project right now.

One of our favorite makers is Hubbardton Forge in Vermont. Their lighting fixtures are really special. We used a linear pendant in this renovated Needham kitchen.

Most of the cabinetry that we use is also made in the United States. We are proud to work with Ovations with their On:U and Segue lines, Greenfield cabinets and Siteline Cabinetry. We have also used Cambria for countertops. Finally, many of the Kohler products are made in a factory in Arkansas. We specify American-made products whenever it is feasible.
